Instant Food

Today I tried an instant salad dressing. You add some powder to olive oil and water and are supposed to get a dressing italian stlye. It just tasted like sodium-glutamate. Yukk. Are people actually liking that stuff?

I think I will continue to not buy stuff which contains sodium-glutamate. I don't like the taste of it and it makes me edgy.

Instant salad dressing is one of the things (like instant muffins or pancakes) that I just don't get. I mean, you're making a salad dressing. What do you need? Oil and vinegar and sugar and salt and pepper. Sounds familiar? It's hard to imagine a kitchen cupboard without. Although hold on - you only need vinegar if you actually know how to cook. If you can't cook, you need instant salad dressing.
Back to preparation: what else? Now you can throw in everything that's around. From fruit juice to mustard to soy sauce to maggi to redcurrant jelly to honey to herbs to onions to bread crumbs to bacon. That should be a simple task, but a surprisingly large number of people seems to be unable to do it. *sigh*
